Immanuel UMC is a growing church in a small town with a huge heart for young people. Our children are a vital part of our church. Here at Immanuel UMC, we believe in the importance of laying a strong foundation at church and at home for our young children to one day become faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. We have trained and excellent adults committed to instilling a love of a Christ in our children through our various ministries.
Before church, we have Sunday School for all ages. During our worship, we invite all children to come up front for a fun, interactive children’s sermon, after which children 4 years of age through 2nd grade will be dismissed to head to children’s church and a nursery is provided for newborns-3 year olds. Any child 3rd grade and older are encouraged to stay for our worship. Our rising 3rd graders and above are offered a interactive discipleship sheet at the beginning of every worship service. These sheets were created just for them as a way to help them grow in their faith during each worship service. We encourage parents or guardians to go over these sheets and communicate with their child on what they took away from the sermons, songs, and overall worship service each week.

In Mark 10: 14, Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” God wants our children to experience the love He has for them. We hope you see that we love and cherish our children at IUMC, and we continue to prayerfully pursue ways to better enrich our children’s ministries in hopes to lead them to a greater and richer relationship and love for Jesus Christ.
